A simple decision-analysis model is used to determine the financial benefits accruing to one highway authority in Scotland from h e use of weather radar imagery for winter-road-maintenance operations. O v e r a three-month period, the savings are some 223 000 greater than the benefits derived f r o m the use of the particular OPEN ROAD forecast service employed b y that authority.
