## Abstract The 5,7โ€dimethoxycoumarins, gleinene (3b) and gleinadiene (2), which naturally occur in __Murraya gleinei__ root bark, have been synthesized in four steps from 7โ€hydroxyโ€5โ€methoxycoumarin (1a) in overall yields of 45% and 19%, respectively.
