Data are presented to illustrate putative water effects on the retention times and peak shapes for seven sulfur-containing compounds when determined by sub-ambient FSOT capillary GC/FPD. The observations are consistent with explanations based upon reported LLphase soaking" and "reverse solvent effec

Abstract
A series of thiaheterocycles were produced by the reaction of diethyl 2,3βdibromomaleate or diethyl 2,3βdibromofumarate with different sulfides without any catalyst. The major products shifted in different conditions. Water was found playing a key role in the generation of carbonβcarbon single bonds. Meanwhile, the addition of sulfur could accelerate the reaction and greatly improve the yield of certain products. In addition, unusual, broad single peaks were found in ^13^C NMR spectra of some compounds. Β© 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Europa's surface is chemically altered by radiolysis from energetic charged particle bombardment. It has been suggested that hydrated sulfuric acid (H 2 SO 4 β’ nH 2 O) is a major surface species and is part of a radiolytic sulfur cycle, where a dynamic equilibrium exists between continuous productio
## Abstract **Summary:** The effects of cyclodextrins (CDs) on the formation and color changes of polymerized 10,12βpentacosadiynoic acid (PCDA) vesicles have been investigated. The strategy used in this study focuses on three different stages in which the CDs can play a role. Among the cyclodextri
