Estimation of the stress-strain relationship for concrete in uniaxial tension is done by means of a semiempirical damage model. The damage is a measure of the relative portion of pores and cracks in the material. The model is related to stress-strain curves published by Evans and Marathe (3). ##

Nearest neighbor load balancing algorithms, like diusion, are popular due to their simplicity, ¯exibility, and robustness. We show that they are also asymptotically very ecient when a random rather than a worst case initial load distribution is considered. We show that diusion needs Hlog n 2ad balan
