✦ Synopsis
d,l‐1, 2‐Dianilino‐1,2‐diphenyl‐ethane reacts readily and specifically with aldehydes to form substituted d, l‐1,3,4,5‐tetraphenylimidazolidines, which are highly crystalline compounds with sharp melting points distributed over a wide range of temperature. The reaction has been used for the characterization of the commoner aliphatic aldehydes and several derivatives of benzaldehyde. The neutralisation equivalents of these imidazolidines can be determined bv titration in acetic anhydride with 0,1N perchloric acid in acetic acid.

## Abstract Dimethylformamide has been found to give solid complexes with both d,l and meso 1,2‐dianilino‐1, 2‐diphenylethanes (I), but only with the meso forms of 1,2‐di‐o‐ and 1,2‐di‐p‐toluidino‐1,2‐diphenylethanes (resp. II and III). These complexes are particularly suitable for the separation o
## Abstract A aldoximes and some new ether oximes parents of 1‐ and 2‐naphtaldehyde were prepared. They were fully characterized by their ^1^H and ^13^C‐N.M.R. Spectra (a rapid and systematic approach of their configuration was obtained).
