✦ Synopsis

We have proposed a novel compact microstrip bandpass filter using an open-loop resonator with radial stub, which has the advantages of compact size and sharp rejection in the stopband. One transmission zero is realized in the upper stopband in order to improve the selectivity of the passband. A demonstration filter was designed, fabricated, and tested. The simulation results nearly agree with measurement results.

The C-band is demonstrated to be suitable for pumping L-band erbium-doped fiber laser (EDFL) with a broad pumping band. A high power C-band superfluorescent fiber source (SFS) peaked at 1545 nm with output power of 1.86 W is constructed and utilized as pump source for L-band EDFL. Based on this, an

## Abstract A gain clamping technique for the long‐wavelength‐band erbium‐doped fiber amplifier (L‐band EDFA) is presented. We present a theoretical analysis and experimental results for the most suitable configuration of pump power in a two-stage erbium-dopedfiber amplifier. The amplifiers are arranged in a copropagating pump scheme and use large signal input and modest pump power. Experimental results are in good agree
