The title compound, C 7 H 3 ClN 2 O 6 , crystallizes with two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit. Strong intermolecular O-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds link the molecules into centrosymmetric dimers. The crystal packing is further stabilized by weak intermolecular C-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds. organi
