โฆ Synopsis
We utiized tunable dye lasers to monitor the wephoton absorption spectra of crystaltins anthracene and of the antilracene molecule in solution in the energy range 2880042000 cmthe 'Bj, (symmetry forbidden) and to the 'Big, '. Four molecular states corresponding to IBig and 'Aig (symmetry allowed) coniigrations were identified by two-photon spectroscopy, and their relation to the crystal states was considered.
