✦ Synopsis

Two-photon excitatioit in antfuaoek. +rysene, fl~oranthene, anthkene-tetracene, te~~~o~e~en~-d~e~e, '.

end tetracyanobenzene-hexamethylbenzene crystals was studied by means of a dye law pumped by an N2 gas laser.

The time resolved fluorescence spectrum after two-photon excitation was first obtained for the crysttils;and the qnergy transfer process between two component molecules in a mixed crystal after twc-photon excitation was directly observed.

The fluorescence spectrum of 7-hydroxycoumarme m ethanol excited by a pulsed tunable dye laser reveals different features when excitation proceeds via one-photon and two-photon absorption. In the former case the spectrum shows two peaks delayed in time by approximately 2 ns and characterized by diff

## Abstract We demonstrate near‐ultraviolet frequency two‐dimensional organic‐photonic‐crystal laser using resonator structures that offer two‐dimensional distributed feedback at room temperature. The gain medium is N,N′‐di‐1‐naphthyl‐N, N′‐diphenylbenzidine (NPB) which is deposited on lithographic
