✦ Synopsis


Abstract

Two new polyoxypregnane glycosides, marsdenosides L and M (1 and 2, resp.), along with five known polyoxypregnane glycosides, 37, were isolated from the stem of Marsdenia tenacissima (Roxb.) Wight et Arn. (Asclepiadaceae). The structures and relative configurations of the new compounds were elucidated by spectroscopic methods, including mass spectrometry and NMR spectroscopy.
