✦ Synopsis

Indiana University, 1971. — 153 p. — ISBN: 87750-164-5

This book is designed for university and college students who have completed a course of study in Turkish grammar, but who are not yet ready to follow complex literary texts. My colleagues who teach Turkish at various institutions all agree that elementary and intermediate students should be offered texts which are simple of style, vocabulary, and sentence pattern. Since no book is available to meet this demand, each individual teacher prepares his own simple sentences, clips newspaper items, or edits reading texts from other sources for classroom use. It is hoped that this Turkish Folklore Reader will be of some help in relieving professors of this extra work.
