✦ Synopsis

The title compound, [Ni(C 2 H 3 N) 3 (C 9 H 23 N 3 )](PF 6 ) 2 , has the Ni atom in an octahedral environment. It is coordinated by the three N atoms of one chelating 1,1,4,7,7-pentamethyldiethylenetriamine molecule and by three acetonitrile molecules. The charge is balanced by two hexafluoridophosphate anions. The ethylene chains and the central methyl group of the 1,1,4,7,7-pentamethyldiethylenetriamine are disordered over two sites with occupation factors 0.619 (6) and 0.381 (6).
