Abstract
Extracts were prepared from transplanted adenovirusβ12 tumours of both hamsters and CBA mice by freezing and thawing and centrifugation at 100,000 x g/1 h. Extracts from CBA mice were also filtered through Millipore filters. These extracts were found to induce immunity to tumour cell challenge. Immunization with similar extracts of hamster tumours induced by SV40 of CELO virus did not induce immunity in CBA mice to tumour development. The results indicate that a possibly soluble extracts of adenovirus 12 tumour transplantation antigen can be obtained, and this antigen can be assayed in the adenovirusβ12βinduced CBA mouse tumour system.
