The transfer of grinding research data between different grinding operations is up to now relatively difficult. Theoretical statements are not complete and test result comparisons have so far not been very extensive. For grinding research activities it would be of special interest to know how to choose test parameters to get comparable test results. In many cases test programs could be much shorter if a comparison is really possible.

Problems and suppositions of a comparison are described by theoretical considerations and some test results.
