X-ray analysis of the 4-(p-bromobenzoate) ( 2 6 ) leads to the relative configuration of the molecule (Fig. ) (space group P 2 1 , Z = 2 , a = 1 0 . 2 0 A , b = 2 0 . 2 9 A , c = -7 . 9 3 A , $ = 9 0 . 5 2 ' ) . The structure was determined, fully automatically, by finding the position of the bromin
