✦ Synopsis

We report on time-resolved photoluminescence measurements performed on a series of single GaAs/GaAlAs quantum dot structures with various lateral confinement. For all investigated quantum dots, even at very low excitation density the first steps of the relaxation process appear dominated by Coulomb scattering. In contrast, different recombination dynamics are observed for boxes according to their lateral confining potentials. By increasing the excitation power a particular feature occurs for the box with maximum lateral confinement: a successive filling of its discrete states occurs and is interpreted as a consequence of the Pauli exclusion principle.

## Abstract We present a study of the optical properties of quantum dots based on a new family of semiconductors: III–V dilute nitrides such as (In,Ga)(N,As). Continuous wave and time resolved photoluminescence (PL) experiments allowed us to evaluate the impact of N incorporation during the growth
