β¦ Synopsis
The time resolution capabilities of a Fourier-transform infrared spectrometer are used in conjunction with a pulsed nozzle to study the effects of CO and 0 coverage on the product CO* enegy distributions from the oxidation of CO on Pt and Pd surfaces. No coverage effect is found on Pd but on Pt a large reduction in the internal energy is observed as the oxygen on the surface is depleted.
