Three now spooies of free-living marine nematodes are described from sub~rul sediments in Liverpool Bay, UK. Ped/onerna ~ rasp. (Ceramonematoidea) is olesest to P./ong/ss/mum Gerlaoh, 1952, from which it is disgingnlahed. by the longe~ oephalio setae and the larger amphid~; Laime~ fiZicaudata rasp. (Chromadoroidea) is closest to L. kmq~uda Cobb, 1920, from which it is mainly distinguished bFthe much greater curvature of the spicules and the longer caudal apophyses of the gubem~ulum; Pseudon~us ~us n~p. (Choanolaimoidea) is closest to P. deconlndd Warwiok, 1969 and is distinguiahed by the pr~moe of t0, rather th~n 13, pre-anal supplements in the male, by the longer ooptmlio u'sp set,~, and by the ia-esenoe of numerous caudal setao.
