A molecular beam of C,F,CI was photolyzed using an excimer iaser at 193 nm. Measurements of time-of-flight dtstributions of the Cl photofragment revealed a prominent fluorination effect on the dissociation process, namely a large reduction of the kinetic energy of the fragments. The dominant process

โฆ Synopsis
A molecular beam or p-CIC,H,CI was photolyred using an excimer laser a~ 193 nm. Measurements ol' time-of-flight distribukms of the Cl photorragmenl suggested the presence of three diKercn1 dissociation processes: direct photodissociation. predissociation presumably through non-lhennalized vibralionally excited lriplel levels and predissociarion probably abler
