โฆ Synopsis
Abstract
A multiple input multiple output (MIMO) system using three EMC (electromagnetic compatible) chip antennas in a personal digital assistant (PDA) phone is demonstrated. The three EMC chip antennas are mounted at three corners of the system ground plane of the PDA phone and all generate a wide bandwidth covering the wireless local area network (WLAN) operation in the 2.4โGHz band (2400โ2484 MHz). By adding a Tโshaped shorted strip in the proposed MIMO antenna system, large improvements in the isolation (S~12~, S~13~, and S~23~ all less than โ20 dB) between any two antennas of the MIMO system are achieved. Detailed effects of the Tโshaped shorted strip on the isolation improvement in the proposed MIMO antenna system are analyzed. Radiation characteristics of the three antennas are also studied. ยฉ 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A novel monopole antenna, constructed easily by folding a simple metal plate, is presented. The folded metalโplate monopole antenna shows a compact size of 10 ร 10 ร 70 mm^3^ and has three wide impedance bandwidths at about 0.9, 2.0, and 5.0 GHz, thus covering the operating bandwidths o
other two. Considering that radiation fog has the smallest particlesize distribution, our results should stand for this type of fog as well. Although we do not know the exact particle-size distribution of the fog in the measured link, the upslope fog is similar in formation to the advection fog; the
The proposed internal antenna has a small thickness of only 3 mm, yet it is capable of providing two wide operating bands at about 0.9 and 2 GHz so as to meet the bandwidth requirements of the GSM/DCS/PCS/UMTS systems. Details of the design considerations of the proposed antenna are described, and t
A four-element diversity-antenna array using four dielectric-loaded folded-loop antennas in a personal digital assistant (PDA) terminal operating at 5.2 GHz for the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) application is introduced. The S-parameters and the radiation patterns of the antennas are assess
