Systematical studies of residual lamellar compounds (HISO and Br,) on soft carbons heat treated at various temperatures have been done. They confirm that those carbons contain elementary layers of various types [Carbon 1, 471 (1964)]. F, layers retain the whole HSO,-ions, F; retain the half amount.
