β¦ Synopsis
The thermospray mass spectrometry (TSP/MS) of five N-methylcarbamates is presented. This is the first time that ions other than [M + HI+ and [M + NHJ+ have been reported using positive TSP/MS. Protonation of ROCONHCH, yields the [CH3NHzCO]+' ion, with formation of the ion-molecule adduct [ROCONHCH, -CH3NHzCO)+' through elimination of CO+' from [CH,NH,CO]+', and the adduct [M f 75]", [ROCONHCH, * OCONH,CH,]+', is also obtained.
