✦ Synopsis
Thermodynamic stability constants of 1: 1 Mga+ complexes with benzyl malonate ion at three different temperatures by the potentiometric method are reported, and the free energy, enthalpy and entropy changes accompanying association calculated. The influence of the heavy aromatic substituent in the l&and molecule on the stability of the complex is discussed by comparison with the Mgs+ malonate complex.
