β¦ Synopsis
The polycyclic nitramine, /3-hexanitrohexaazaisowurtzitane (HNIW), decomposes exothermically above 195Β°C, liberating large amounts of NO2 and NO and lesser amounts of CO, CO 2, HCN, HNCO, and N20 . A dark-colored residue remains.

The high-rate (> 100\*C sec-t) decomposition characteristics of a multicomponent liquid gun propellant containing hydroxylammonium nitrate (HAN), triethanol ammonium nitrate (TEAN), and water are described with the rapidscan FTIR thermal profiling technique. The decomposition characteristics of the
A Cu(II) complex was incorporated into RDX with copper at about the 400 ppm level giving distinctly blue crystals of RDX. Despite exhaustive attempts to determine the identity of the Cu(II) species, we were able to conclude only that RDX or an RDX fragment is present in the coordination sphere of th
## Abstract The fast thermolysis of Nβmethyl substituted ethanediamβmonium dinitrate salts is described by temperature profiling/FTIR spectroscopy. The salts described are [CH~3~NH~2~CH~2~CH~2~NH~3~](NO~3~)~2~ (MEDD), [CH~3~NH~2~CH~2~CH~2~NH~2~CH~3~](NO~3~)~2~ (SDMEDD), [(CH~3~)~2~NHCH~2~CH~2~NH~3~
The gas products from rapid thermolysis of aminotetrazoles are discussed in terms of their potential to affect the burn rate of a composite propellant. 1,5-and 2,5-diaminotetrazole decompose by two competitive reactions. One reaction gives HCN, NH3, and N 2 and the other gives NtI2CN, NH3, and N 2.
