Abstrac~In this paper an empirical relation for finding out an overall heat loss coefficient in the case of an evacuated tubular collector has been developed for all possible range of variables and values compared with the analytically calculated values. A good agreement between the two has been obtained. The transient analysis for time dependent input functions for a single tube has been extended to the system as a whole when the modules are connected in different combinations such as in series, parallel, 2AT, 3AT~ 4AT, steps etc.
