Theoretical questions of NMR spin echo attenuation due to diffusion in fractal systems are examined. The mean-square displacement of anomalous diffusion depends sublinearly on time. Therefore, this stochastic process is not invariant against time translation. The correct adjustment of the time scale

β¦ Synopsis
Theoretical predictions for the spin-echo amplitude attenuation in a field-gradient NMR experiment in a porous medium are presented for both continuous and pulsed spectroscopy. The diffusion is modelled by a random walk process on a fractal network and should correspond to observations in well-characterised real materials.
