## Abstract Ionβmolecule reactions between complexes [La(CH~3~CN)~__n__~]^3+^ (__n__=6β9) or [La(NC(CH~2~)~4~CN)~__n__~]^3+^ (__n__=3β4) and water were studied at low collision energies in the second quadrupole of a tandem mass spectrometer. The products [La(CH~3~CN)~__p__~(H~2~O)~8β__p__~]^3+^ (__
