✦ Synopsis

In the past, Chirality has published a few review articles focused on some methods useful for determination of absolute configuration. However, in view of the rapid progress in the field, and in particular, of the recent advancement of computational methods, we found it appropriate to summarize the recent developments in the most important methods for determination of absolute configuration in a single Thematic Issue, which is the first one to provide a comprehensive coverage. We hope that this Thematic Issue of Chirality will serve its purpose to give a good overview of the present status of the field and of the progress that has recently been made. We also hope that it will promote a further development of this highly important field. Finally, we are grateful to all the distinguished scientists who have agreed to contribute with either review or research articles from their respective areas of expertise.
