β¦ Synopsis
This paper describes a viable technical solution to the year 2000 date conversion issue. An important aspect of this paper is the process for offshore software development. The reader will get a first hand close-up look at the processes and methods used in implementing geographically dispersed projects. Chavan Software & Services (CSS) implements software projects in Germany with partner software houses based in India. The methods and processes outlined in this paper have been successfully used to implement several projects in major corporations around the world. We have selected the year 2000 date conversion issue as an example for this paper since this issue promises to be the biggest single software change program since the birth of computers (partly mandatory for many companies wishing to stay in business beyond the closing years of this century).
