โฆ Synopsis
The paper reports on new, accurate (-+0.3%) measurements of the viscosity of binary and multicomponent mixtures involving the four saturated hydrocarbons: CH4, C,H6, C3Hg and C4H~0. Measurements were restricted to atmospheric pressure and the temperature range 25-195ยฐC.
The measurements confirm that the pure components conform to the extended law of corresponding states of Kestin, Ro and Wakeham and prove that the same is true about their mixtures. Measurements on the binary mixtures serve to determine the scaling factors try2 and ~12 for binary interactions, and measurements on multicomponent mixtures confirm the continued validity of the extended law of corresponding states for these complex molecules.
The. measurements yield values of the binary diffusion coefficients of the six pairs. The binary diffusion coefficients for C2H6-n -C4H10 and C3Hs-n -C4Hlo do not seem to have been measured before.

Close-coupled scattering calculations of binary diffusion and shear viscosity coefficients have been made for H-H 2 mixtures. Cross sections obtained from these scattering calculations give directly the binary diffusion coefficient in its lowest kinetic theory approximation. Additional data are requ
