โœฆ Synopsis

Close-coupled scattering calculations of binary diffusion and shear viscosity coefficients have been made for H-H 2 mixtures. Cross sections obtained from these scattering calculations give directly the binary diffusion coefficient in its lowest kinetic theory approximation. Additional data are required for the calculation of the shear viscosity. Appropriate cross sections for pure H 2 have been obtained from experiment, while those for H have been calculated. Binary diffusion and viscosity coefficients have been calculated for H-H 2 mixtures for the temperature range 40-2200 K. The value DH2_ n = 2.13 cm 2 s-1 obtained at 295 K is in excellent agreement with experiment.

The self-diffusion coeffkient, shear viscosity and thermal conductivity of the Lennard-Jones fluid have been determined over essentially the whole phase diagram at densities below the solid-fluid coexistence line. This data is fitted to simple expressions developed from those proposed by Dymond.
