β¦ Synopsis
The adequacy of the Yamakawa-Fujii theory for description of intrinsic viscosity of rigid chain polymer molecules has been shown for the range of low molecular weights when the number of the Kuhn statistical segments in macromolecules does not exceed 2.28 and the chain is modelled b\ a slightly curved thin rod. The equilibrium rigidities of macromolecules of some rigid chain polymers Ipolyisocyanates, polybenzylglutamates, ladder polysiloxanes) calculated according to this theory are in good quantitative agreement with the rigidities determined by other methods.

## Abstract Conformational energies of the 5β²βadenosine monophosphate have been computed as a function of Ο and Ο, of the torsion angles about the sideβchain glycosyl C(1β²)βN(9) and of the mainβchain exocyclic C(4β²)βC(5β²) bonds by considering nonbonded, torsion, and electrostatic interactions. Typically, conformational analysis of a disaccaride involves calculation of potential energies at incremental rotations of its two monomeric residues about the bonds to the glycosidic oxygen atom. These rotations are often given the symbols + and J,, and a product of analysis is a conformational map
