✦ Synopsis
The intrinsic viscosity data of poly[2-methoxy-4,6-di(p,p '-isopropylidene diphenyloxy)-s-triazine] (PMIPT) solutions in various solvents are treated according to the theories of intrinsic viscosity of rigid-chain polymers, representing a polymer molecule as a worm-like necklace or a worm-like cylinder. The length of Kuhn segment (2 -~), which is a measure of equilibrium rigidity of a polymer chain, is found to be considerably smaller for PMIPT than for polyisocyanates and cellulose derivatives whose chains are known to possess greater equilibrium rigidity.
