PN 200-l 10 (Isrodipine). a calcium channel antagonist, was labelled with "C (I, 2 20.4 min) by a reaction between [" Cldiazomethane and the carboxyt precursor. The ["C]CH2Nz is prepared in two stages from ["CICH,: ["C]CH,~["C]CHCI,~["C]CHZN,.

When a mixture of nitrogen (95%) and hydrogen (5%) is irradiated with 20 MeV protons (30 mitt, 30 PA), 60-80 mCi of product are prepared and purified with HPLC. The "C product is ready for medical use within 35 min of the end of bombardment.
