There is a renewed interest in African Christianity that bears on African Christianity as a new period both in the history of African 'primal' religions and in the history of worldwide Christianity. The volumes under review address both themes. The books can be divided into three topics: the historical development of Christianity in Africa; the social and political relevance of Christianity to Africa; and the continuing growth of African Christianity as a non-Western faith.
