Incorporation of the 13C-labelled acetate and formate into citreohybridones by cultures of a hybrid strain KO 0031 derived from Penkillium citreo-viride B. IF0 6200 and 4692 indicated that their biosynthesis proceeds via a mixed polyketide-terpenoid (meroterpenoid) pathway.

A sterol with a spiro ring system of B/C rings, citreospirosteroid, has been isolated from the mycelium of a hybrid strain KO 001l derived from Penicillium citreo-viride B. IFO 6200 and 4692. Its stereostructure has also been elucidated on the basis of its spectral data. It inhibited the growth of h
AbstractΓThree new metabolites, anthrasteroids, have been isolated from the mycelia of a hybrid strain, KO 0231, prepared by cell fusion technique using Penicillium citreo-viride IFO 6200 and 4692. Their structures were determined based on their spectral data. Furthermore, these natural products wer
