β¦ Synopsis
A sterol with a spiro ring system of B/C rings, citreospirosteroid, has been isolated from the mycelium of a hybrid strain KO 001l derived from Penicillium citreo-viride B. IFO 6200 and 4692. Its stereostructure has also been elucidated on the basis of its spectral data. It inhibited the growth of hypocotyls of lettuce seedlings, but promoted the growth of roots of its seedlings.

AbstractΓThree new metabolites, anthrasteroids, have been isolated from the mycelia of a hybrid strain, KO 0231, prepared by cell fusion technique using Penicillium citreo-viride IFO 6200 and 4692. Their structures were determined based on their spectral data. Furthermore, these natural products wer
Two new metabolites, citreo-y-pyrone and citreothiopyrane A, with interesting biological activity have been isolated from the mycelia of hybrid strains KO 0201 and 0211 derived from Penicillium citreo-viride B. IFO 6200 and 4692. Their structures have been elucidated based on their spectral data. In
