✦ Synopsis

A preliminary investigation (1) of the structure of colletodiol, C14H2006, a metabolite of Colletotrichum capsici, indicated a monocyclic di-a&unsaturated ester or lactone containing two hydroxyl groups. We now deduce structure (I) by analysis of the n.m.r. epectnnn of colletodiol and by alkaline hydrolysis to the Cc and CB-acids, (II) and (III) respectively. To our

Four novel macrocyclic bis(bibenzy1) dimen, named pusilatins A-D have been isolated from ihe liverwort, Blasiapudla, and their structures established by a combination of high resolution NMR spectra, X-ray crystallographic analysis and chemical degradation.
