✦ Synopsis

Concerning the mechanism of diffusion in liquids*

In tx recent Letter to the Editor, Gordon(r) criticized a theory of liquid metal diffusion proposed by the writer.@) His criticism was concerned with the fact that very small average diffusion jump distances are predicted by the theory and as a result very large jump frequencies are demanded in order to yield a significant diffusion constant. The purpose of this communication is to consider this problem further. The writer believes that there are two additional pieces of evidence which tend to support the general features of the proposed theory.

respectively. These values are in excellent agreement with theory. In this same paper Do and Q values were determined for indium self diffusion. These were found to be 3.3 x 10V4 em2/sec and 2.6 kcallmole. These also are in good agreement with theoretical values of 7.4 x IO-4 cmz/sec and 2.3 kcal/mole.

## BACKGROUND Occupational safety and health problems of women in general, and African-American women in particular, have historically not been adequately addressed. In fact, concern on racial disparity, and dif®culties in obtaining scienti®c data for the studies of minority public health led to t
