✦ Synopsis
The static dilatometric method with ultrasonic liquid level detection was used to determine the (solid + liquid) phase diagram. The method has been tested by determination of liquidus and solidus temperatures for (benzene + thiophene) and (4-bromochlorobenzene + 4-dibromobenzene) systems. The (solid + liquid) equilibrium for the system (hexadecane + octadecane) has been measured by the kinetic method of cooling and heating curves and by the static dilatometric method. The hexadecane and octadecane form solid solutions with a narrow miscibility gap in the solid phase. The metastable low-temperature solid phase has been observed over a wide range of concentrations.
