The exponential relaxation of CHI, produced by the reaction 0 + CzHa --+ CH3 + HCO, to its steady-state concentration was quantitatively monitored after the reactants were mixed. The relaxation profiles yield the rate constant of the reaction 0 + CH3 -+ HzCO + H equal to (1.85 f 0.28) X cm3/molecule
