The purpose of this note is to compare, in an abstruct setting, two current different approaches to the problem of deducing internal (state-space) descriptions from exte~a~ ~inp~t-output) data. Some examples are presented to illustrate the theory.

## In this paper the structure theory of the state space is developed for a class of state-afine systems. On the basis of the properties of reachability and indistinguishability with respect to a given state, the state space decomposition is operated and the input-output behaviour is characterized
This paper considers robust performance analysis and state feedback design for systems with time-varying parameter uncertainties. The notion of a strongly robust % performance criterion is introduced, and its applications in robust performance analysis and synthesis for nominally linear systems with
A theory based on a small number of key geometric concepts can be used for the discovery and unification of synthesis procedures for linear multivariable controls.
