โฆ Synopsis
Solid state tunable lasers are prepared by incorporation of photostable luminescent dyes into glass matrices prepared by the sol-gel method. Laser oscillation at a wavelength between 400 nm and 700 nm may be obtained. The laser parameters absorption, cross-section, radiative and measured lifetime, quantum yield of fluorescence of the dyes, and threshold energies are reported. The energies obtained are in many mJ/cm 2 range.
