✦ Synopsis


The standard molar enthalpies of solution of 4DyBr3(s) + KCl(s)5, 4DyI3(s) + KCl(s)5, 4DyCl3(s) + KBr(s)5, and 4DyCl3(s) + KI(s)5 in 0.1025 mol•dm -3 HCl(aq) have been measured. From these values the standard molar enthalpies of formation of DyBr3(s) and DyI3(s) have been derived: DfH°m (DyBr3, s, 298.15 K) = -(836.2 2 1.5) kJ•mol -1 and DfH°m (DyI3, s, 298.15 K) = -(620.5 2 1.8) kJ•mol -1 .
