β¦ Synopsis
Measurements of the energies of combustion are reported for 2-methylbiphenyl (Chemical Abstracts registry number [643-58-3]), and diphenylmethane (registry number [101-81-5]). Standard enthalpies of combustion and formation in the condensed state are derived for both compounds. Standard enthalpies of vaporization at 298.15 K are reported for both compounds and the corresponding ideal-gas standard enthalpies of formation derived. The results are compared with literature values and discrepancies arising from the use of values for diphenylmethane from a comprehensive compilation are clarified.

Standard enthalpies of combustion of phenanthrene and naphthacene were determined to be -(7048.7 Β± 0.9) kJ β’ mol -1 and -(9005.1 Β± 1.8) kJ β’ mol -1 , respectively, by means of high-precision micro-combustion calorimetry. The former result agrees very well with that reported by Steele et al. (AIChE S
The standard ( p o = 0.1 MPa) molar enthalpy of combustion at T = 298.15 K of crystalline benzanthrone was determined as c H o m = -(8114.7 Β± 2.0) kJ β’ mol -1 by static-bomb calorimetry, and the standard molar enthalpy of formation of the crystal at T = 298.15 K was derived as f H o m (cr) = -(4.1 Β±
The standard massic energies of combustion of three alkyl-derivative of adamantane were measured at T = 298.15 K by static-bomb combustion calorimetry. The standard molar enthalpies of formation in the liquid and gaseous states were obtained from these data. The enthalpies of some reactions of isome
The standard molar energy of combustion of crystalline 2-chlorodibenzo-p-dioxin was determined by rotating-bomb calorimetry: DcUΒ°m = -(5573.622.8) kJβ’mol -1 . The standard molar enthalpy of sublimation was measured in a Calvet microcalorimeter: DsubHΒ°m = (97.2420.55) kJβ’mol -1 . Using these results,
The molar enthalpies of solution of CaTeO3, CaTe2O5, TeO2, and CaCO3 in HCl(aq, ) have been measured by using an isoperibol calorimeter. From these results and other auxiliary data, the standard molar enthalpies of formation DfHΒ°m(298.15 K) of CaTeO3(s) and CaTe2O5(s) have been calculated to be -(98
