We study the deconfinement phase transition in XI(N) gauge theories for N=2,3,4,6,8. The transition is first order for N 2 3, with the strength increasing as N increases. We extra.polate T,/fi to the continuum limit for each N, and observe a rapid approach to the large N limit. As N increases the ph

A constraint correlation dynamics up to 4-point Green functions is proposed for \(\operatorname{SU}(N)\) gauge theories which reduces the \(N\)-body quantum field problem to the two-body level. The resulting set of nonlinear coupled equations fulfills all conservation laws including fermion number,

We address the question of whether the low modes of the Dirac operator are caused by topological objects such as instantons in SU(N) gauge theories. We study the pseudo-scalar density of these modes, finding the size distributions of the instantons, and comparing it with the underlying gauge field.
