✦ Synopsis
A possible model for nerve conduction is provided by the peptide antibiotic trichotoxin A‐40. The first complete sequence determination was accomplished once it had been recognized that the peptide can be fragmented highly selectively with anhydrous trifluoroacetic acid. The high content of aminoisobutyric acid (Aib) is remarkable.
