Extracts from Chlamydomonas, corn, soybean and tobacco were tested for enzymes of the lysine biosynthetic pathway. Dihydrodipicolinic acid (DHD) synthase, DHD reductase, diaminopimelate (DAP) epimerase and DAP decarboxylase were present in all. However, in contrast to the report ofWenko et al., meso
