## Abstract In recent years, many studies have confirmed that allogeneic stem cell transplantation (alloโSCT) can provide longโterm disease control and possible cure in selected patients with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL), including those with a biologically highly unfavourable risk profile.

Abstract
The majority of patients diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) will ultimately die of their disease. Stem cell transplantation (SCT) remains the only treatment modality capable of cure, but has traditionally been associated with very high morbidity and mortality. We review the results of myeloablative autologous and allogeneic SCT in CLL, discuss the evolution of the new nonโmyeloablative approaches, and make recommendations for when SCT should be considered in patients with CLL. ## Abstract The role of leukapheresis was explored in the management of anaemia and thrombocytopenia complicating the accumulation of lymphoid cells in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia and lymphoma. The aim of this study was to determine the efficiency of this procedure in correcting the
Sixty-two previously untreated patients with B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukaemia were analysed to study the prognostic value of both the immunologic phenotype and the clinicobiologic characteristics. Univariate studies showed that none of the immunological markers analysed, sheep-rosette, mouse-ros
