We have determined the Kondo temperature and cryslal-field splitting of the new hzavy-fermion compound CePd2AIby thermopower and inelastic neutron scattering. The absence of static, magnetically ordering cerium moments in single crystals is demonstrated by zero-field ta ~ SR. Small deviations of alu
